All credit to course designer Thierry Gouvenou—this year’s Tour de France route is a love letter to cycling in its purest form. Gone are the complaints that the likes of Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert have no business in the Tour. The 2025 edition delivers a spectacular variety of stages: from flat sprints to puncheur-friendly finishes, from brutal climbs to decisive time trials. And yes, after a detour in 2024 due to the Olympics, we are back on the Champs-Élysées.

Tour de France 2025 Stage Highlights

Week 1 delivers a rare treat: a real shot at yellow for sprinters. Puncheurs will eye the Mûr-de-Bretagne, while GC contenders get their first test in a 33 km time trial around Caen.

Week 2 is where things get spicy. The Pyrenees dominate, featuring legendary climbs like Hautacam, a punchy uphill time trial to Peyragudes, and a mountainous ride to Luchon–Superbagnères.

Week 3 hits peak drama with Alpine monsters like Mont Ventoux, Col de la Loze, Col de la Madeleine, and a summit finish at La Plagne. The race then heads back north, wrapping up with a cobbled uphill finale on Montmartre in Paris. This is not your average Champs-Élysées sprint…
