Preview of cyclocross 2023/2024

Cyclocross Season 2023/2024: New Heroes Wanted The great advantage of the fact that Van Aert, Van der Poel, and Pidcock will not ride more than fifteen races in the upcoming cyclocross season 2023/2024? It opens the doors for new heroes. Stronger, it may be that on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in Tabor, Czech Republic, for the first time in nine years, someone other than The Three takes away the magical rainbow jersey. Eli Iserbyt, Michael Vanthourenhout, Lars van der Haar – and to a lesser extent – Thibau Nys: it’s your turn! And if the top riders return during that delightful Christmas period full of races, it will be a joy to watch and savor!

In the women’s category, the baton has also been passed to the next generation. But here too, be on the lookout that the road does not become more important. Because road cycling is also attracting Shirin van Anrooij, Fem van Empel, and Puck Pieterse. The latter even aspires to include MTB. Will they definitively take over from the veterans Lucinda Brand, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado, Denise Betsema, and Annemarie Worst? And how quickly will Fleur Moors develop into a formidable competitor? With Zoë Backstedt and Marie Schreiber, and the breakthrough of the Canadian sisters Ava and Isabella Holmgren, there is hope for a challenge against the dominance of the Dutch women! So, it promises to be a fantastic cyclocross season for the women as well!
